Our Story

How We Started

My name is Daren Anderson, and I started my roofing career in 1988 as a shake roof cleaner and repairman. From 1989 to 1991, I took a break from roofing to serve as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Netherlands, where I learned the Dutch language. A few years after returning home, I met Rachelle, and we started dating. A few weeks later, I proposed. After a brief courtship, we were married in 1993 and started our family while attending school.

I earned my bachelor’s degree in finance at Brigham Young University. Shortly after graduating, I took a job as a financial analyst for a local bank, but on the weekends, I continued offering my roofing services to other companies to earn extra money. Realizing I was earning more at my side job, I approached Rachelle with the crazy idea of quitting my day job to start my own roofing company. She agreed, and we launched a full-service roofing company in 1996. It was a huge success, and I loved building the business over the next decade.

In 2006, I was recruited by another company. After careful consideration, I decided to shut down my roofing operations to start a new career. I have enjoyed my work with this company for the past 20 years, and that continues today.

The Next Generation

That brings us to the present! My nephew, Jase, approached me wanting to learn the roofing trade. Using my experience, we applied for a new LLC license with me as the qualifier. After thoughtful planning, California Roofing + Repair LLC became a reality.

Today, California Roofing + Repair LLC is a fully family-owned and operated enterprise. Our team includes me as President, Jase (Sales & Operations), Nick (Website & Marketing), and Anthony (Sales & Finance). We officially received our operating license from the Contractors State License Board on March 5, 2026, and our doors are open for business.

I am incredibly excited to train the next generation of my family in a trade that has played such a pivotal role in my life.
